Ok, so how this works is, the pile on the left is TBD, or “to be digitized,” while the pile on the right is NTLT, or “need to listen to.” There was a time when the NTLT was something like 30+ records deep, and as you can see, we’ve covered some good ground, but the problem with continuing to accumulate records we couldn’t possibly live (or be caught dead) without, is that the NTLT, then subsequently the TBD, remain to be long-lasting stacks consistently fixed in these slightly varied plies on the floor. Either I need to adjust my ingestion process to amuse my morbid fear of clutter, or I need to listen to more damn records. I think the solution is painfully obvious.

Happy Birthday, JP!
The Argyle
I’m still a bit confused about the details surrounding tomorrow night’s show, but APPARENTLY, both Pennywise AND The Bouncing Souls will be playing the Palladium. Knocking off work early to attend, so let’s hope Friday isn’t a mongrel bitch. BTW, The Good, the Bad, and the Argyle is arguably the best Bouncing Souls album ever released… here’s hoping the band thinks so too.

Sometimes you get a record you order off Discogs and well, that’s great! And OTHER times, you get the record you order off Discogs with six bonus CDs! Such is the case with Discogs seller “Discontinued” and my order of the Custom Floor Clear Day LP. Let’s give props to those to go the extra mile (or six), and dammit, “Discontinued” is that extra fool going that extra mile! Thank you, good sir!!
Evening Ranger
I’ve given up trying to figure out the concept art for Night Ranger’s 1983 opus, Midnight Madness. For those of you with an adventurous mind, and time to share, send your Night Ranger conceptual cover art theories to theprudentgroove@gmail.com. Please be sure to include “Night Ranger, Love Lingers in the Evening” in the title.
Comedy Burns
For those of you looking for a PG-rated laugh riot, consider this 5 LP marathon from the Longines Symphonette Society, The Golden Age of Comedy: 50 Years of Great Humor, From Vaudville to Video. Narrated by George Burns, this monument of comedy gold is a bear to get through, or at least exceptionally time consuming, but if you’re into the type of quality comedy that your grandparents ripped and riled to, The Golden Age of Comedy is your bag.

New
Coming home to mailorder packages is certainly a (slightly) unexpected surprise at the end of a long, hard-worked day, especially when they’re as visually aesthetic as this one. Mailorder is fun (thanks Asian Man Records), so if you aren’t in the constant habit of online shopping, consider shipping insurance, and gift yourself a little unexpected surprise. Again, it’s the little things, kids.

Focus: Little Things
Creedence Country while like, in the country, living in a nylon fort with sprocket-hungry leg-vehicles is, without hesitation, some of the best “get-away” music anyone could possibly ask for. Dirty hands, analogue ear candy, and natural sound machines were the necessary elements for a relaxing and rewarding few days. Focus on the little things, kids.
Vinyl, Beer, and Camping
My, My Such A Sweet Thing
It’s Friday, and it’s getting late. So what better time for some damn fantastic Tommy James & The Shondells? On the list of artists whose discography need completing, I’ll temporarially settle for this Best of comp. Crystal Blue Persuasion and Crimson & Clover… mainly Crimson & Clover. Have a good night, kids.
Living Mono
Hugo Winterhalter Goes… Latin, and we here are thankful that he did, since, as far as I can recollect, we can all benefit from this throwaway, yet strikingly beautiful 1959 design layout nonchalantly strewn across his majestic cover… or some type shit. You, my friend, exist, within “Living Stereo.” Manufactured in 1958, the Living Stereo logo is both synonymous with quality, and visual brilliance… not to mention it’s 58 years old. Respect the history of graphic design, kids.

The Hiatus is Bag Off, Again
I can’t say I remember acquiring this plastic CD bag on or around June 15th, 2004, and I’d forgotten all about it until it jumped out at me this morning while searching for my birth certificate. Birth certificate… nowhere to be found, but the hiatus is back off as far as this nifty bag is concerned. (Notice the Brooklyn Dust Music logo at the bottom. Classic.)
